WORKING WHILE CHRONICALLY ILL: ACCOMMODATIONS, ADVOCACY & SURVIVAL

This workshop centers the lived reality of working in environments that were never designed with chronic illness or disability in mind. Many of us have had to navigate accommodation requests, workplace discrimination, disbelief, pressure to “push through,” and the constant calculation around if, when, and how to disclose.

This session is not about fixing ourselves or offering productivity hacks. It’s about naming the systems that fail us, validating the complexity of surviving within them, and creating space to speak honestly about what it costs. Together, we’ll share what we’ve learned, acknowledge what has impacted us, and remind one another that our needs are legitimate.

Topics of Discussion:

(01) Lived Experience Check-In

(02) Accommodations: Reality vs. Theory

(03) Discrimination & Invalidating Experiences

(04) The Emotional Cost of Advocacy

This is a space for honesty, solidarity, and survival. You are not too much. Your access needs are not inconveniences. And you are not alone in navigating systems that were not built with Chronic Illnesses and/or Disabilities in mind.

With your ticket to this event, you get access to a groupchat, where you connect with others who are working with chronic illnesses and/or disabilities!

At DAYBYDAY, we understand how quickly circumstances can change and how unpredictable life can be when living with a chronic illness and/or disability.

If you need to cancel for any reason, you will receive a full refund if you email daybydaycancellations@gmail.com  24 hours before the event begins!
